Broadband access and mobile transport is almost certainly the growth engine in telecommunications for the next ten years and Metro Ethernet, PON, SONET/SDH and IP DSLAM will play an important part in that growth.
Ethernity device is a dedicated ultra low cost processor for networking. It was designed from group up to provide full networking solution including per flow protocol interworking, switching, filtering, traffic management and framing that can scale from 2 Gbps to 20Gbps with a clear roadmap to 100Gbps, using the same technology populated on different platforms.
Furthermore, Ethernity ENET product line is the only device available in the market today that provides the above functionality in a low cost FPGA, equipped with low cost DDR2 external memory . Populating the solution on low cost FPGA enables ENET product line to provide upto 10Gbps of throughput, while populating the same technology on higher end FPGA enable Ethernity to provide 20Gbps solution.
Ethernity enables Telecom Equipment Manufactures (TEM) to receive customized solution at the interface and functionality level, maintain differentiation, offer fast responds to market needs, and move to mass production with FPGA to maintain field upgradability.
ENET product line has two main lines an upto 10Gbps FPGA solution under the name of ENET3xxx and 20Gbps version under the name ENET4xxx, where the 10Gbps version is targeted towards ONUs, Broadband wireless, and Carrier Ethernet Edge Switches for pure Ethernet or SONET/SDH equipment, where the 20Gbps version is targeted toward the Triple play aggregation platforms, high density port aggregation , IP DSLAM network trunks and FTTP Optical Line Termination.
