Ethernity to announce integration of ENET software API with Aricent ISS application software stack

Best in class innovative networking technology will be now packed with software application package ready for production

Lod, Israel – Feb 20, 2014 – Ethernity Networks Ltd, an Innovative Networking System on a Chip provider, today announced that the Aricent Intelligent Switch Solution (ISS) advanced switching and routing system is being adapted to operate on top of the Ethernity’s ENET software API . The combined Ethernity / Aricent solution is a comprehensive platform for Carrier Ethernet switching , hierarchical quality of service (QoS) , and management capabilities, accelerating time-to-market for OEM designs . Ethernity will present during Mobile World Congress 2014 at Hall 5 Stand 5F81

“The combination of Ethernity’s soft core Carrier Ethernet Switch offer flexible, and scalable platform with the Aricent ISS will set a new set to extend differentiated switch designs and enable faster time-to-market.” stated David Levi , Ethernity’s Chief Executive officer. “Using that combination enables OEM to release different hardware products using single hardware and software platform , and support new networking requirements without dependency on ASIC vendors and the availability of new devices”

Deployed at hundreds of thousands systems the Ethernity’s ENET product line of Flow base processor clearly provides more than available off the shelf network processor ASICs and supports all the Carrier Ethernet Switching requirements including L2/L3 Switch, filtering, header compression, Hierarchical QoS , MPLS-TP, PBB, G.999.1 Fragmentation , EFM bonding , PWE, timing and load balancing . Offering the ENET soft core as customized SoC on FPGA or as a core for integrated ASIC design, enables Ethernity to customize amount of interfaces, throughput and functionality, together with integration of other hardware logic peripherals onto the same FPGA.

With the improvement in FPGA offering based on 16 nm technologies , that extend the FPGA market with offering that can compete with off the shelf programmable network processor, the ENET SoC on FPGA and the Aricent ISS software platform, will enable OEM to ease the migration from legacy network processors ASIC components to high end programmable networking platform based on FPGA, designed for mass production .

With commitment to support customers at all system design phases up to production readiness , together with firmware upgrades, Ethernity also helps customer to adapt the ENET API to support other software application packaged used at legacy product,
