Ethernity to announce integration of ENET software API with Aricent ISS application software stack

Lod, Israel – Feb 20, 2014 – Ethernity Networks Ltd, an Innovative Networking System on a Chip provider, today announced that the Aricent Intelligent Switch Solution (ISS) advanced switching and routing system is being adapted to operate on top of the Ethernity’s ENET software API . The combined Ethernity / Aricent solution is a comprehensive platform for Carrier Ethernet switching , hierarchical quality of service (QoS) , and management capabilities, accelerating time-to-market for OEM designs . Deployed at hundreds of thousands systems the Ethernity’s ENET product line of Flow base processor clearly provides more than available off the shelf network processor ASICs and supports all the Carrier Ethernet Switching requirements including L2/L3 Switch, filtering, header compression, Hierarchical QoS , MPLS-TP, PBB, G.999.1 Fragmentation , EFM bonding , PWE, timing and load balancing . Offering the ENET soft core as customized SoC on FPGA or as a core for integrated ASIC design, enables Ethernity to customize amount of interfaces, throughput and functionality, together with integration of other hardware logic peripherals onto the same FPGA.
With the improvement in FPGA offering based on 16 nm technologies , that extend the FPGA market with offering that can compete with off the shelf programmable network processor, the ENET SoC on FPGA and the Aricent ISS software platform, will enable OEM to ease the migration from legacy network processors ASIC components to high end programmable networking platform based on FPGA, designed for mass production .
