Ethernity Networks releases a new ENET4800 40Gbps platform based on Xilinx’s Kintex 7 FPGA
The ENET4800 Carrier Ethernet Switch SoC softcore integrated on Kintex 7 FPGA sets a new standard for deployment of a software defined platform
Lod, Israel – Feb 20, 2014 – Ethernity Networks Ltd, an Innovative Networking System on a Chip provider, today announced the release of new Ethernty’s Kintex 7 Reference design and evaluation board for the ENET4800 40Gbps Carrier Ethernet Switch SoC softcore, and ENET4200 Packet Processor Radio Engine . Ethernity will present ENET4800 Kintex 7 reference design board , equipped with ENET4200 Carrier Ethernet Switch and traffic manager solution, dedicated for radio access applications and ENET4800 40G Carrier Ethernet Switch during Mobile World Congress 2014 at Hall 5 Stand 5F81.
The highly integrated evaluation board is available with:
- Linux 2.6 running on top of Microprocessor Power QUICC II MPC8306 266MHz with up to 512MB DDR
- Kintex 7 FPGA low power ( less than 10W) supporting eight 10G SERDESs
- 2x 10GE ports
- 2 x QSGMII connected to 8 GbE SFPs , together with additional 9 GbE ports ( RGMII and SGMII)
- FMC connector to connect additional FMC module with 4 x 10G ports
- On board 5 x DDR3 16 DQs components connected to two DDR3 controller on the Kintex FPGA – operate up to 1.8Gbps
- Zarlink ZL30146 DPLL for IEEE1588 and SyncE
- Input voltage : 36-72 Vdc
With fully functional Evaluation board as ENET4000RD , OEMs can use this board for any communication design or obviously use this to evaluate the Ethernity off the shelf solution, for application such as 10G Carrier Ethernet Demarcation, Indoor radio access , 4G/LTE small cell aggregation , base station router,, gateways, FTTH aggregation card, or 40G Carrier Ethernet Switch
